Ya .....and when you actually think about it more closely , it is ultra irresponsible to allow a situation like this to continue knowing full well that the OTC market is free to BUY , SELL , accumulate ,speculate and perhaps manipulate the direction on the SP without being properly informed.
Because .....and contrary to what others are suggesting comprise the average OTC Investor demographic , the reality is that you don't actually know who these investors are or whether many have the ability to interchangeable trade their securities on BOTH exchanges / counters .....or indeed how they could be connected to the company and whether they are in fact gaining an unfair advantage to trade in these securities while the home exchange is in suspension.
And there is a specific section on this in regards to what ASX's expectations are .....with one of them being that they expect that the Company will appropriately advise the secondary market listing of current trading halts and more importantly suspensions.
And bottom line here is that we ( the Australian shareholders ) who are not in the position to take advantage of cross border trading strategies could be easily subjected to a situation where insiders were exiting on a secondary exchange all the while knowing that the announcement will not perhaps be taking all that favorably.
And lets face it almost 50 million of these DMNXF's have traded just in the last 2 sessions. And just as an example of the possibilities ......we know that the Conseil De La Premiere Nation Abitibiwinni has a total holding of 27.5 million just on their own. What about all the International Brokers and nominee accounts.......
And so the risks are real .....just is the potential for fraud and insider trading. Just look at what happened when AJM was suspended and which proved to be indefinitely . In that situation their OTC equivalents were still trading and allowing investors to in effect exit while their Australian Counterparts were not.
So this area and practices are clearly in need of some serious reforms if not investigations in my opinion.
