True but if the mayor survives it will be long drawn out process.

Many a times local Australian councils objected development in their area.. verdict Federal usually wins but the delays can be years in the courts.

Look at 2nd Sydney airport lol, residents who bought cheap land 5km from the airport complaining about potential noise pollution when the area was designated to be an airport since 1950
