I've continuously kept this high level because it's clear that the fundamental concept of what Appen do isn't being understood in HC.

Let's take this back to basics and we can determine where people are getting lost.

From your perspective, what is the core product (or service) that Appen sell?

Why do customers pay them for this product or service?

& to clear up some misconceptions:
- The share price is driven by market sentiment, not the sentiment of this thread. Why would I be interested in pushing down the share price if it's already falling? If someone wanted to manipulate that, they'd use the volume of a broker or a collection.
- Ive never said that Appen are a glorified labor hire company. I've said that the workforce is a core component of their product / service offering. If you don't understand that, then I think you should revist the fundamentals of what they actually do.
- I'm not stating that data annotation is becoming irrelevant. It's comments like that, that make me really question whether you understand what the value of quality datasets actually do for training AI & ML models.
- Regarding the comments on China, you've misunderstood what I meant by domain specific applications. Speech, Language, Vision, etc. are all vastly different fields of research. Over the years I've seen countless developers try to apply AI & ML techniques to a specific application without the domain knowledge. I'm not stating that China will steal Appen's IP. I'm saying that China already has more IP in data annotation of their domains.

Also from a workforce perspective, don't you think China has the upper hand in terms of producing production lines?

I've also avoided talking in any depth on bias, as it's clear that people still struggle with the fundamentals of what the service offering is.
