Maybe you've been swallowing a little too much mainstream yourself China. Everything in the headlines at the moment, is through the prism of the broader geo-political mess that the west has stupidly created with China. (Idiot Dorito in the US for one, closely followed by our own PM here, all the way back to trade war, snatching the Huawei exec in Canada [which is about the US falling behind in 5G], baseless claims about corona origins etc, which continue to this moment. The U.S. does owe China about nearly 2 Trillion in trade yes..?)
If you want to buy into all that then your choice, the crux of the matter here though is a self inflicted credibility issue.
