Warren Buffet's favoured holding time is "forever". Albeit after determining what stocks are worth holding.
With oil, new opportunities will not appear because one is in a fresh hunting mood. Very few left in thew world. Holding CVN is just recognizing good oily ground.
Letting go of good stocks too soon is the typical pitfall of private investors, same as holding duds too long.
But possibly it relates to attention span........
