What is it with people and comparing to other scandals as some kind of justification? Its not...

Obviously there are lots of other examples of scandals and poor governance. All I am saying is that there is a risk of blowing up shareholder funds on this acquisition, which is a risk at the best of times. I don't think I'm being to harsh.

If I owned a business and acquired another one not foreseeing regulatory risks of the past behaviour of the company. Which then caused a 40% decline in the value of my business and future millions being spent in legal bs, should I get a tick of approval?

If no goodwill is written off, if it resolved fairly quickly and the share price recovers, great, but anything less than that and this acquisition is poor capital allocation signed off on by the board. Regardless, millions are going to be spent acting on this and reviewing the entire business, plus valuable management attention.
