IMO What seems like a foreign concept right now will become a much more common approach for investor service to communicate with share/unit holders in the future.
The companies that are forward thinking will embrace this concept now rather than adopt a sheep herd mentality in the future.
Perception is everything in this market. If companies are out there proactively promoting the company's operations, dispelling any rumours and answering shareholder queries, the market will view these actions in a positive light.
I think this is more beneficial for companies whose reputation has taken a hit and are looking to minimise further damage and possibly enhance its reputation in the market.
Given the way Centro has been decimated in the media and by analysts in the last 18 months, I think this can only be seen as a good thing.
