in general terms the US death rate / day / million of population was over 15 for months over 20 for weeks and had a max death rate of 24 / day / million. The death rate in Malaysia is the highest ever and is still climbing and that is a problem, BUT it is only 2 / day/ Million. About 2500 deaths so far.

India had much tear jerking press about covid. its daily new cases are down 50 % to 200K. Active cases . down 25% to 2.3 Million. Deaths are just starting down at about 3.7K deaths a day. Total Deaths so far are 322,000 with a population of 1.3 billion. now compare that to US with 600K deaths, population about 333M.

JMO News media exists for one thing only to sell advertising space not to inform. Any time they can get more attention Twisting distorting or lying to make facts seem worse they will. Many politicians do not look for data they take the presses word. That is what the voters use and who wants to explain to voters why you did something against press. Good news does not get viewers. Everybody likes a little good news at end. the fact it is always the last thing says it all.

As to your question I do not think any company should be shut down with current Covid levels in Malaysia. I have no input to decision making. The Malaysian government does not have a great track record on using data to make decisions. We will just have to watch to know for sure. I also think Lynas should be allowed to have all personnel on site and operate at 100%. Based on what I have seen I expect Lynas to be at 75% production for awhile It is not right or fair but as an investor I am only interested in what will happen not what should happen.
