An outcome of producing the Sentinel data post was checking on Calibre and Boxer to the 28th of May.

At Boxer the rig has apparently moved onto the third site. It probably spent some 5-10 days at site 2 which means a fairly deep hole was probably drilled (assumes, among other things, no break down).




The positive spin from this would be encouraging results though a series of deep RC holes (perhaps with diamond tails) may always have been planned given the wide spacing of sites on the northern traverse of 3 holes.

[As an aside the discovery holes at Calibre were, IMO, surprisingly deep for first pass drilling. Apparently DDH drilling as well!]

At Calibre there are indications a rig is still on the first site #1 below.


Something appears on this site on the 3/5/21 image. Possibly 3-4 weeks of activity which adds some weight to earlier speculation I made about a deep hole being drilled as one possibility.

If this is a 1000+-m hole it is testing the width and depth extent of Calibre well below easy open pit levels and represents the deepest hole to date. A very good sign IMO that the JV have some big plans for Calibre if the assay results are in line with what has been seen above.

Previous drilling in this section of Calibre mostly predates the JV with Holes 19-19 and 20-25 the closest. #25 was drilled along strike (NNW) and had a long intersection.

Projecting this onto a 2019 image - tricky with 3D issues so treat carefully along with the heap of assumptions being made.


The location of Site 1 makes more sense when seen relative to the magnetic image. It would represent a complete test of the magnetics if the hole was 1000+m.

An excellent scoping hole if the above assumptions are anywhere near accurate. Why drill so deep if there are is no possibility of going underground in a decade or so after digging out 1-200+Mt of material from an open pit?? Dream on.

Dryblower (@Shines2) may be onto something. Not a well kept secret though the details are.
