Those holding longer see holding as an investment - many are here only for a quick gain flipping shares like pancakes. I like pancakes - don't mind flipping on occasions. SYA from now on is out of the frypan and soon to be buttered up, with jam and cream and hence continue to hold - manipulation or not. Besides, 3 and a bit yrs of holding is still considered medium term - need to hold a bit longer if serious about 'long term'.
