Overnight round-up and day ahead: "ASX Today: New-month selling expected"
BreakfastToday is Gawai Dayak, an annual festival held by the Dayak people of south-east Asia to celebrate a successful rice harvesting season. The Dayaks are an indigenous people found in Sarawak, Kalimantan and Borneo. Celebrations normally take place in traditional longhouses. We're stretching the breakfast concept because the festival normally takes place later in the day. We're offering penganan - a cake made from glutinous rice flour mixed with palm sugar - and kuih jala, a crunchy fried snack also made from rice flour with coconut milk and sugar.
