It came from the horses mouth back a few years ago when I first invested in ALK (22c and 28c) that the Dubbo (Toongi as I know it) development cost was 1 Bill. and 80 Mill. (1.080 Billion). That no doubt has changed but I have not read anywhere that figure has been altered greatly. Somewhere deep in my files I have the initial groundworks plan, but that did not include a plant, all of that discussion has emerged in more recent years and would no doubt increase development costs markedly. Having said that, to turn a sod on Toongi to commence mining and the building of a plant are separate endeavours and may not be at the same location? A plant may well appear on the farmland closer to Benelong Road rather than the Obley Road as all the road widening and bridge upgrades have been on Benelong. Purely a guess and speculation on my part there. A bit of logic thrown in too. On a more recent upside it appears all of the rubbish that has been going on within Dubbo Council is reaching a point of resolution and the poor performances and childish infighting of recent months might see the cupboards cleaned out in the coming September local govt elections with so many ratepayers sick of the incumbent's shenanigans. It is imperative we see local forward thinking people with vision and local development ideals in place in the baby stages of ASM's Dubbo development.
