seriously -- not all that long back - you would not hear stories --

it was not spoken of - even when there was exposure - the 'story' never got out of whatever organisation or group it was in -

one didn't have to be very unobservant to miss the entire goings on

take the latest AFL child abuse scandals that are surfacing ---

what do we see ------------- we see coaches who WERE identified - and were actually thrown out of clubs for molesting young male players

BUT - they were employed at other major clubs - because the 'story' never got out of the club they were dumped from

this is in cases where there were dozens of offences over years

one, nowadays, might ask - 'how is that possible' ---

but, it was and it still is to a degree

If one reads the autopsy report on Jim Griffiths from Tasmania recently - one sees a multi decade history ------- with cases KNOWN going back a long long time - but, still - he was allowed to practice in areas where children were

back to the AFL - you find that the parents of children that were molested and abused - loved the perpetrator - thought them to be the best coach in the world -

those parents would have said --- 'I never heard any stories like that'

yet - it was going on right under their noses -- TO THEIR OWN CHILDREN

there's a saying ----------------------- 'hidden in plain sight'
