AFAIK securities can't be sold to non-sophs without a prospectus.
Disclosure: I recently approached Fresh Equities re becoming a client (no connection with RAC). Fresh Equities replied words to the effect "please come back when your soph paperwork has been completed, and we can't help you to complete it because that would be a conflict of interest. Ask your accountant".
The problem is that I do all my own accounting except SMSF audit.
I asked my SMSF auditor to provide the soph certificate and he said "Sorry I don't have the required NET asset verification tools or the relevant professional insurance".
