Just another (possibly useless) bit of trivia I came across this evening.

This comes from a California site dealing with oil and gas exploration there.
It talks about "injection wells" and it also has a list of different classes of wells and lo and behold....

"Class II wells - inject fluids associated with oil and natural gas production operations. Most of the injected fluid is brine that is produced when oil and gas are extracted from the earth."

Now whether there Class II is the same as Louisiana's is a moot point but it is feasible that the classification of wells is universal or at the least that the US has a standard system of classification.

Now are they using Acosta #1 at the moment to dispose of water produced from J #1. Or is it a double act of disposing of the water and also hoping to improve the recovery from Acosta #1 when they drill it ?

All highly conjectural and probably hopelessly astray of the truth.
Well when the information is not forthcoming from the company what's a guy got to do ?
