I got some really interesting historical insights into the old Commonwealth mine at Boda yesterday. Very interesting. At some future point I may relay some of the information I got from an old timer if anyone is interested. I didn't realise the old Commonwealth mine was such an interesting development from 1880 forward for many decades. It is 1 km deep and had 11 levels. The extraction techniques and the remnants of same are intriguing as well. It was originally discovered as a fault line at surface that could be easily followed between the two plates that left a gap of a metre or so and the rich vein went from surface to 1 km and branched off lower as veins were followed deep in the fault line. It was ironstone embedded with quartz veins. Very interesting history.
