Check out informedtrades.com for advice and prorealtime.com for awesome charting, especially for newbies because it draws the trend lines for you if you want it to which also saves a bucketload of time. (I use both but no affiliation with either). I found MDS to be very good but clunky interface and cumbersome to use. I use eTrade Pro trading platform (but they have had serious issues of late, but seem to be resolved, touch wood).
