I've heard this arguement a few times and don't get it. They do direct to China sales. They don't rely on the channel. In the past, before covid disruptions many argued how great A2 was for "relying" on the daigou channel. This logic is flawed too.. They have been doing business where customers buy their products. Perhaps not rapidly adapting to the "new normal" is a valid arguement, but they have many business channels, and either rely on all of them, or rely on none of them depending on how you see it.
