re: for the man that dwells in the hills What the directors did was wrong. I'm not disputing that. I also acknowledge they knew the may have not left enough back here in the kitty. But I also think the shortfall they omitted wasn't going to be as much as some are saying now. It started at 1/2 $B, went to $800 M, then 1B, 1.3B, and now 2B. I think that maybe this shortfall is being ballooned for sensationialism. Remember when McConaghy(?) first sued the NAB. It started at $30M, kept increasing till his last price was more than the MC of the NAB.
People have vested interest in these matters. The reason this price is escallating IMO is that some people are seeing the possibility of BIG $ they don't deserve.
Yes, some do deserve it. I may yet. But a lot don't.
I think the directors were caught between a rock etc. and after 60 years of what may have been kidding themselves, tried to do what was best for all, but maybe more so to their shareholders.
All I'm saying it's easy to judge from a distance.
