I'm not sure whether Akida 500 is coming in August. The screenshot I took of the Akida family showed that Akida 1000 is in production and Akida 1500 is being/has been prototyped.
There were no comments in relation to the progress of Akida 500 or the other chips.
That said, the preparation of Akida 500 masks will only entail taking a pair of scissors to the Akida 1000 masks to cut off the nodes which are surplus to requirements (and any of the peripherals which are deemed unnecessary).
As for the Akida 1500, my guess is that they will have just tacked some extra memory onto the Akida 1000 NPUs/nodes to hold the previous screen shot for comparison with the new screenshot - a bit more work than preparing the Akida 500 masks.
The modules will include other chips such as a communication interface and some memory.
Some figures were mentioned (by Anil?) of $49 to $69 for the modules.
So, if there are 7000 modules that could be about $490000 income (before costs).
If there are 50000 modules, that could be about $3,500,000 income before costs. (Someone on HC mentioned 25 wafers per batch, and we have also discuse 2000 chips per wafer).
