buying resouce companies/projects at bargain prices for controlling interest is what rio and bhp do. same rules apply for everyone, including china. its a world market mate.
as for rio and bhp being great companies, there are some that would disagree. there is a nice enviro mess in new guinea that bhp made.
partnering up with a murderous dictator, last i heard, was not the australian way. mugabe would agree with you though.
