The Chinese Govt has been in total control of its country and its people (all leventy kazillion of them) since what, 1948 or so? It is used to getting its way. It made a mistake in assuming it could get its way on the international stage.
One good Olympics Games does not mean that the world will bow and scrape at your feet.
A bit of growing up is all that's needed if they want to run with the big dogs and not get bitten.
