I wished people stuck to scientifically proven facts and not spin.
Fact 1: The global water, land and atmospheric temperatures have been falling not rising for at least the last 5 years despite further increases in total CO2.
Fact 2: CO2 is not a pollutant but an essential component for supporting life on this planet.
Fact 3: The proportion of total CO2 in the atmosphere is minuscule. It has increased from about .03% to .038% over the last 100 years or so.
Fact 4: The proportion of man made CO2 of the total CO2 in the atmosphere is the only part that we can control. Current emission trading strategies are only talking about reducing the man made part of the total CO2 by an even less minuscule amount.
Fact 5: The climate change (warming and cooling) is a function of many other factors other than CO2, some of which have a far greater impact with even smaller changes, such as the Earth's geomagnetic field shielding us from solar and cosmic radiation and particles, water vapour and many other gases, and the Sun's ever changing output of solar radiation.
Fact 6: A comprehensive and accurate compute model of how the atmosphere behaves does not yet exists as there are too many variables and unknown factors yet to be discovered and explained. Skepticism must be applied when considering compute generated predictions of global warming, especially since they have been unable to predict existing observations.
Many people have used various tricks to exaggerate the amount of global warming, and so they had to make this a political and religious-like issue.
So, even if we stopped man made CO2 emissions completely (impossible), does anyone honestly believe beyond a doubt it will alter the climate in any significant way given the facts above? To be honest I don't know.
