The niche’ part is the very small window in which a rigid (HX built) structure would be advantageous over a conventional build, definitely going to out perform in that narrow band, is it financially viable for that specific situation? I don’t think so, small movement and a normal building will be fine, a rigid structure might/might not, I lean toward not.
Proper earthquake will demolish everything irrespective of the build type.
