    Yes that was misguided. No doubt most of it got spent on Chinese made plasma TVs.

    When the word "need" is used it helps to think what we couldn't live without - food, energy and materials - or cheaply manufactured goods?

    No doubt China has been positive for certain industries (resources and government) but also had a negative impact on many others: manufacturing, services, agriculture, tourism to name a few. Like all relationships its a two way street so lets get rid of this notion that Australia is dependent on China.
