Hello,
i called my broker , australias largest retail broker, at close of trade today to ask this exact question. Thay dont lend stock for this purpose ,allagedly.
Then rang maqurie equ. ,thay dont also, allegidly.
apparently the practise of lending shares is the domain of
Fuĺl service broking houses,
which i thougt the above were.
admittedly thay both sort of laughed, cackled whilst telling me otherwise.
