Hey everyone, saw some confusion on how people thought this would work. Here is how I think it will work if the Mali government want the other 10% giving FFX and Ganfeng 40% each.
The spin out company will have 40% of the Goulimina Project, FFX have said they want to keep 20% of the new company.
Shareholders are left with 80% of the new company or (0.8 × 40% = 32% of the Goulimina Project. Shareholders will still own the other 8% held by FFX in a less direct way (than owning shares in a new company).
Shares on issue - doesn't effect the value of the shares you get so I'll just show you how it should work with a made up value ascribed for mcap.
400 million mcap = Goulimina value 400 x 0.4 = 160 million for spin out company 160 x 0.8 (FFX holding 20%) = 128 mil is the value of shares pro rata'd out to shareholders (32% of entire Goulimina value)
Value of 100,000 shares if Goulimina value 400 mil 100,000 / 821,000,000 (shares on issue rougly) = 0.01218% (current ownership percentage of 100,000 shares)
0.0001218 x 128,000,000 = $15,590
I have made all the numbers round ones so if you think Goulimina will be worth only 200 mil total and you have 500,000 shares just half the 15,590 and times it by 5, you should get $38,975.
If you've got 50,000 shares and think it will be worth 300 mil total you'll get 3/4 (300 mil out of 400 mil) x 15,590 divide that number by 2 because you have half as many shares so you'll get roughly $5,846
I've probably made some mistakes in this so if you notice anything change it so people can figure out some rough values for their shares.
