Good post Chazza, and it is the kind of view that I take on things. The easy part is coming up with speculation, the difficult part is turning it into a solid conclusion.

Are we able to confirm how many square meters they had previously and how many they have now?

A company can move for many reasons, the trick is to try and work out why they have moved now.

    - If they have moved to a bigger premisis, it may indicate that they are expecting an increase in staff. Although as stated by Larger, most of the new staff are going to need to be based in Africa.

    - It is difficult to judge based on location. Some move to closer to the City because they are doing well, while it has been a trend of late for large organisations to move some of there offices to less popular areas, because it is cheaper, they can get a larger office and people are prepared to work for less.

    - It is difficult how to read the saving of money. On one hand, it could be out of desperation, trying to save every last cent. On the other hand, they could be planning for the long term, and trying to streamline their business.

    - As you pointed out, the biggest clue for mine, is the fact that they decided to move. If you were going to be shut down in 12 months, why wouldnt you just stay put, save the hassle of moving, and if you are going broke, it doesnt matter how much you save on rent, it just isnt going to be enough to save the company. With that said, you dont know whether there were other reasons for leaving. Maybe the owner had new tennants, and SDL were forced to move.
