Very heady, dlux, but re "His state of consciousness is one of torture, the repetition over and over of his suicidal act and the emotions that induced and accompanied it;......" I think in probably the majority of suicides, once one has decided to take that big step, the torture disappears and one becomes quite relieved, calm, and at peace in the knowledge that hurt and blame will end the instant it happens. Not everyone dies in the heat of tortured anguish, I think most die calm and commited.
