Data for 11/6/21 shows outstanding shorts increased by a net 1.6m (Shortman data) when only 82K new shorts initiated (ASX data). This clearly makes no sense and looks like the large 2m reduction in shorts the day before was a "clerical error"? Still 38m shorts outstanding as at 11/6/21. With SP languishing there appears to be little rush to square the position. Welcome to the oil and gas industry that operates in a parallel stock universe. No bull market in sight but some smart money is accumulating positions. You have to be patient. Out of interest has anyone sold or reduced their holdings and moved into the other universe? Totally understandable. I've topped up twice in the past few months.
