I agree the shift will happen in the terms of diagnostic technologies for the human condition
However phone apps have the capacity to assist with communication in the form of mental health and well-being along with advice re a course of action to take for a specific medical issue.
I do not consider a phone provides any additional info for a respiratory condition over the existing methods currently available
Doctors are being ask to take on all legal implications with any incorrect data provided with an app.
who accepts the responsibility if the data is wrong?
So if the data is only a guide - why should a doctor add another headache to his potential chance of being confronted with patient litigation
what is the value of the app to his/her 10 years of study, experience and proven use of existing diagnostic tools available.
the FDA did not accept its claims why should a medical practitioner
