    cloudnine,

Interest rates for the last 15 years to Jan 1994 is 7.7%

If you go back 20 years to Jun 1989, it is 8.91%

If you go back 30 years to Jun 1979, it is 10.19%

If you go back 40 years to Jun 1969, it is 9.75%

If you go back 50 years to Jun 1959 near the end of the RBA statistics, the average is 8.87%

Therefore I predict, with rational evidence to support my claim, that interest rates over the term of a normal mortgage will average nearly 9%-10%.

Anyone claiming less needs to refute the evidence.
