Finding 30,000+ patients to enroll will be a massive task considering we already have vaccines that work well.
Many of the unvaccinated will be the vaccine hesitant. Good luck getting them into a trial.
What's more, assuming we get all the patients we need in the trial there still needs to be COVID floating around in the community to prove efficacy. The $25M you mentioned as the cost of the trial is probably missing a zero.
To be clear, I'm not trying to talk down the prospects, just trying to be realistic.
