What you are asking us is the reasoning behind the institutional funds modelling of FMG share price. We have told you what you asked for, but you are not happy with it:
- funds take into account the long term risk to the capital value of the business + revenue in calculating share price
- this risk factor is then included as a product of the final value the funds come up with
- the fact that the dividend yield is insanely high reflects that the funds have calculated that future revenue/capital value will reduce
- so example, Morgan Stanley thinks $18.65 a share. Now that may mean they think the long term value is $15/share, but they are also pricing in short-term dividends
- Funds have been getting FMG price wrong continuously, so are they right this time? If anyone knew they would be rich.
- Most holders on HotCopper think the price is wrong and have provided ample evidence to back it up, which you would have read as you have been holding for a number of years.
- If you cannot handle how the market works, look into real estate.
