Sounds like Ivittuut was a bit of a disaster back then.
The GoG then learnt from it to prevent so again.
I doubt Greenland would make the same mistake twice.

This is the bit that worries me the most, The whole sector has been heavily effected. Ive seen the GoG be over the top. Ive seen mining company owners carrying on and on in the headlines complaining about the years they were delayed. Ive not seen any EIA approved for many years that hasnt taken 6-9 years to get all the studies done. Greenland is serious. I think I even read an article where companies had to house fish in lab aquariums for years subjecting them to concentrations of intended wastes before cutting them open and analyzing then etc Its really very stringent.
Ivittuut I feel would be right up there on this list. Its so close to the Fjord its even a concern to workers. It surely would be seen as a bigger risk then inland?

I feel this EIA could take years and if that happens the delays will come at cost. Just by years alone of hold, tests and salaries. Other mines have I understand had to pay $50-$100mill each just to get where they are and they arent even approved. gbb can tell you all about this if hed confirm by answering this question Ive asked a few times. These mines need money and selling up assets to get buy. Its all true as far as I am aware..
Maybe they can do some other sort of new approval for the pit water just so the company can get their own confirmation drill results on the pit floor. But I cant logically see how this would happen without similar tests and standards.

I suspect by the time this mine even gets the EIA approved. We would have all sold up and moved on and forgotten all about it.

Remember theres good reason why another poster here said buyers have walked away for so long and I knew Id discover why eventually.
Who would want to hold a mine for that long before even knowing if you could get approved.
