I know some are bored of hearing the shorter(s) but it can provide some insight into the SP action.
From 15-18 June shorter(s), after a period of high volume short covering in early June when trading volumes were higher than normal, put on a net 1.2m new shorts when trading volumes returned to the normal 1m-2m daily range. If they were trying to drive the SP down below the key 24-25c area in a thinner trading market they were unsuccessful. Future shorts data will be interesting to watch to see if they persist.
To me this trading action seems to be putting a floor under the SP as value buyers enter the fray at great prices. Having said that and knowing much luck at predicting SP movements I could be completely wrong.
