This is quite a rookie question as i have only been trading since the beginning of the year, is there minimum amount of time from when you buy shares to being eligible for a dividend payout? I am not asking for myself, I am more asking for people with weath. For example buying in at a few days before the dividend distribution, getting a nice payout, then selling again? Does this change from company to company or is it a standard across all of the ASX?
Again this is probably basic stuff to you guys, just interesting to me. Cheers!
