true we do make our own reality and our own decisions, but not always with a clear mind. We can only build our reality from what we know, see and experience. When these things are dysfunctional, we build a warped sense of reality and thinking, which can lead to very self destructive behaviour and mental illness. It then takes an enormous anount an internal fortitude to realise our thinking is misaligned and even more guts to challenge it and fix ourselves. The problem with this is it quite often takes a near catatrosphic event, to motivate people. I do agree though, that switching emotions off is the secret to a content life, we as humans can still be understanding and caring without getting emotional, but it does take practice. The true warrior is the person that can overcome his own mind.
