It seems to me that the amount of capital needed to go into production alone is likely to lead to a JV and that the financiers will be able to force matters this way. As you point out, the technical complexities will add to the pressure (no pun intended). Assuming, that is, that a full-blown takeover can be held off.
Whichever way things go, holding on as a shareholder should be profitable. The company has not seen fit to advise the current cash on hand (only referring to $87M at 31/3/21) while we will be illuminated through the quarterly in about a month. There should be plenty for some time yet before a top-up is needed.
On an EV to Resource of $175.6/oz, DEG is not cheap but I have seen others at a similar stage of exploration much dearer than this in the recent past and without the same scale of resource.
