The move away from fossil fuels is going to be an enduring theme.

BUT....

Any sane analysis shows that the needed raw materials to execute the transition don't exist in the required volume. If our psychology doesn't match the problem then it's only a vanity project.

Everyone seems to think we can have our cake and eat it too.... that somehow advanced society can remain self indulgent, emerging economies can mirror this attitude and we happily expand ever after.

That's not going to happen.

If the energy basis of civilization is going to successfully transition it will only do so if we adopt a new political paradigm. One which is no longer founded in mindless exploitation.
