My thoughts: ROC is one of my four mid tier oil investments and it has performed second best for me so far. I am hesitant about the SPP mainly because there is a lot of doom and gloom still. Particularly related to evidence of any future growth in the world economy and dangers with the European banks. 78c is also a lot higher than my current average entry price.
For me, if I go with the SPP, it will be with an eye to hold for the long term. Thus if there is a major Stock market reversal in the third or fourth quarter 09, then I can be reasonably confident that it would be not much worse than the stock market downturn last November ie - ROC would survive and the share price would eventually recover again.
The current trend looks like the SPP will be quite close to 78cents on 7th August. In hindsight, those people that exited late June and reentered at 64c early July look to have fared much better than the SPP.
