    @grindstone cowboy; adding energy to the troposphere as we've done with increasing gusto since the Industrial Revolution began means that we can expect more extremes and more often - that in addition to increasing mean temperatures.

    It is entirely predictable that stronger air currents will drive air masses further than before to create more extreme weather events.

    Similarly with rapid exchanges of air masses - we can expect to see polar air masses penetrate further towards the equator and for tropical air masses to penetrate further poleward. Where the interact will produce massive and highly destructive storm events.
