News: RIO UK Stocks-Factors to watch on June 28

June 28 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening 6 points higher at 7,142 on Monday, according to financial bookmakers.

• MODULAIRE GROUP: Canada's real-estate service provider Brookfield Business Partners BBU_u.TO announced on Sunday an agreement to acquire UK-based Modulaire Group IPO-MODU.L , which is backed by private equity firm TDR capital, for $5 billion.
• GSK: GlaxoSmithKline Plc GSK.L has hired two banks to help advise it on listing its consumer unit next year and on defense against a potential activist campaign from Elliott Investment Management, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
• ASTRAZENECA: AstraZeneca Plc's AZN.L diabetes drug significantly reduced blood sugar levels in adolescents aged 10–17 with type 2 diabetes in a late-stage study, the UK-based drugmaker said on Friday.
• SHELL: Royal Dutch Shell RDSa.L said on Friday it had agreed to acquire BP's BP.L 27.5% stake in the Shearwater North Sea gas field, raising its stake in the field to 55.5%.

• RIO: A Rio Tinto Ltd RIO.L forerunner failed to protect 18,000-year-old artefacts showing how people lived during the last Ice Age, part of destruction that the mining giant kept secret for decades, an Australian Aboriginal group alleged on Friday.
• GOLD: Gold prices slipped to a one-week low on Monday, weighed down by a bounce in the dollar and mixed signals from the U.S. Federal Reserve on monetary policy tightening despite tame inflation data.
• OIL: Oil prices hit and then recoiled from highs last seen in October 2018 on Monday as investors eyed the outcome of this week's OPEC+ as the United States and Iran wrangle over the revival of a nuclear deal, delaying a surge in Iranian oil exports.
• Energy and mining stocks led the FTSE 100 higher on Friday on the back of higher commodity prices with the blue-chip index ending its best week in over a month following a boost from a dovish central bank policy in the previous session.
