A root cause analysis of who is behind playing one side off against the other (& it doesn't matter what constitutes a side, as long as it's possible to create 2 that are deeply opposed each other) turns up some interesting history.

One thing which is a constant is the influence of Australia's heavily concentrated (& destructively irresponsible) media.
Doesn't matter a great deal what happens with the churn at the top politically because of this.
It has been the same for a very long time with the same in the UK & much the same in the US.

Agree, but to succeed at that, a bold, realistic, science based vision is needed. With long term sustainability at it's heart.
And as much as I admire anyone with the resources capable of bringing about this type of change who chooses to do so, if it's coming only from billionaires it will play into that 2 sides narrative above - not everyone loves billionaire x, y or z.
A Sirius Resources type success story however, shows that anyone can do it.

Which would kind of explain why I've done as much as I can think of in the very limited time off I have (my day job gets in the way) to communicate what part of it could look like with TNG/TIVAN as part of such a vision, but it never, ever feels like enough.
