I'm not dismissing facts about civil war in Kenya. There isn't a civil war in Kenya. The article you linked into your original message was about Somalia making trouble, the only thing Kenya was doing was setting up an embassy. Africa doesn't equal Kenya so stop conflating those two. Also, Kenya is different to Australia, and if you're not comfortable that's ok.

If you would like to potentially earn outsize returns investing in a company that has world class assets and a track record for delivering great outcomes for the communities in which they operate then this might be for you. If you don't want to invest, that's ok.

I'm not in love with the company, however I did invest what you might call "a lot" of money but it represents around 1% of my portfolio, whilst the dividends from this 12 month period will pay for an entire private high school education at any of Australia's finest colleges.

now if this is not enough to convince people about sovereign risk in Africa I don’t know what is!

Has BSE got plans in place for this sort of civil war? If it can happen to a RIO mine in Africa it can happen anywhere in Africa!

Are people concerned that this sort of thing could happen to BSE?

I’m sticking to mineral sands companies in Western Australia.
