    Birdsville's economics are aided by two key factors:
    1)Off-grid, so replacing diesel
    2)Whilst the temperature isn't that great (sub 100 deg C) it is shallow artesian water, so no great drilling costs.

    As for the actual economics, I have not a clue. Haven't looked at it for years, stumbled upon it early in my research of geothermal and was amazed at the low temperatures being utilised (coincident with quite high cold sink temperatures as well).
