There has been some great inputs to this topic and some information for the less informed from some very astute and well researched holders of SDL. It has highlighted that their are compelling reasons for many of the big players. I know BHP is often and stupidly suggested as a predator for all and sundry, but they are only interested in long life, expandable, upstream bulks and this fits the bill. OZL's Prominent Hill in my opinion is too small (for instance)
RIO is on shaky ground with Guinea and the government(!?)issued a warning to them only this week to stop meddling. They have invested a lot of money there. The Indians would be ideal due to their location, but BHP and Vale are clearly now battling for top spot. These world scale assets are becoming scarcer and the big boys will not want to let these projects fall into competitors hands. Clearly someone is going to make a commitment to this Cameroon project. It won't be left on the shelf and so it makes a compelling case for investment in SDL.
Thank you for reading the start of this thread and for the fantastic positive information delivered.
