I think that today investors have to realise that companies are spending more on marketing their share price than on selling their product. Nowadays financial PR is not just communicating with shareholders but advertising on investor websites and paying professionals posters to encourage others to invest. This is particularly prevalent in tech small caps. It used to be that entrepreneurs invested their own money to make a fortune. Now it is the investors money they risk whilst lining their own pockets
