As AB noted cut the cost to finance Scarborough would make sense - I think???
So let's look what this 30% reduction cost means:-
Based on 2022 estimate results USD costs is around 2.67billion Source Goldman Sachs.
A 30% reduction equates to around $800 million.
Can't see this coming all from direct labour would work out to be around 5,300 employees - won't happen.
Productivity, contractors etc they will be seeking even more than purely head number reductions.
I hope Meg ONeill is not relying on some excel spreadsheet analyst graduate with these new numbers.
If this is a 16billion dollar Scarborough capex - how will an $800 million workout for the funding. Lucky we have a low interest rate environment - I'm sure in a different environment would be a cap raising.
For some reason this half year report will be very interesting indeed.
Just to let you know Laredo took a hit last night.
