Hope everyone is well.
I am starting my tax/trading journey as a sole trader and checking out the mytax site to become familiar with it. As the title suggests this is the business 's main activity....even for what we call a share trader!!?? Financial Asset Investing
I am curious to know if dividends received will also be summated under business income/loss section rather than any other (investor) section?? Some dividend payments are automatically filled in by ATO....some are not! as yet.
For example..... just fill in total income (including dividend income) ,, (minus) costs in running the business...(i.e. brokerage)
plus other costs.....computer etc....
It should be a simple thing.......
